Seagull Nest

This brings on a set of issues for residents and businesses alike, such as choked guttering from nesting materials, producing water leaks from chimney stacks or water ingress down internal walls, bad, foul smells from dead birds, constant fouling and rotting food waste brought up onto the roof. Other issues are an increase in flies and their larvae, issues with numerous bacteria such as salmonella, food robbing (childrens ice creams, chips and pies), physical attacks that can and often do lead to visits to A & E with cuts and abrasions to the head, permanent noise from gull screams and cries that start as soon as it becomes light in the early hours of a summers day morning only ending late at night around 10pm when darkness falls. Only to re-start around 3am when the dawn starts to break again.

Khitan Bird and Pest Solutions are industry professional pest controllers that also specialise in bird control, such as gull egg and nest removal on the grounds of public health and saftey. 1. Hi,

Seagulls have started nesting on our house roof and needs removing. We have small children and don’t want them being attacked in the garden.

Can you quote me for the removal of the nest please.

    Thanks,
    Jay

    • Hi Jay,
It doesn’t say where you live but i am assuming on the North Wales Coast.
All birds are protected when nesting by law and the law was changed in the passed green new deal during Covid Lockdown.
You can no longer simply remove a gull nest, you require a specific licence, which is quite detailed. If you are in Wales, this is from Natural Resources Wales.. The land/homeowner needs to apply for this site specific licence. You can put a controlling company such as ours down in the form as the chosen contactor to complete the works but no works can be completed without that licence and it has to be to the letter of the licence.
Removal of an active 2024 gull nest without this licence carries a mandatory prison sentence of 5 years and an unlimited fine.
Please feel free to put us down as the contractor when you are completing your online licence application so we can then come and complete this work for you legally. Without a licence you will need to wait until the end of the birds breeding season in August to be able to remove the redundant nest and proof against further 2025 nesting which we can carry out too.
      Kind Regards
